Ismaki#17

Gone for cute this week, the new Shabby Chic from Magnolia because of which I had to make a large card and do you think my camera likes large cards so this is the best pic I could get. The bows, handbag, fence and the Tilda are all magnolia, papers are doodlebug. This weeks sketch is from Manue and she is hoping for 160 entries for the challenge.
Here's a little close up of Tilda.
When I received my fish from Tilda & friends they were inside this gorgeous card from Annie and you can see my camera liked this card.

And I've been sent these awards from Crafty Fairy and her daughter Hannah which makes it extra special because Hannah is a brilliant card maker and she's only ten.

Tuesday

Life definitely not going according to plan this week, I've lost my large ball tool and if you see my cards in RL you will see that I slightly emboss my Tilda's, I'm lost without it. I now have a tidy craftroom. Hopefully Sis will be able to get me one at the craft shop near her. Luckily this Tilda was already to go, so she got used for the Tilda & Co challenge this week for eyelets and something natural. My natural is a leather strip that I brought orginally for scrapbooking, the leather strip are dyed in various colours and the eyelets are just right for lacing.
Last double LO for MIL book the last two are singles, click to view a larger pic if blogger lets you. I based it on a LO by the Bazzill Queen Lynn.

I've had to get the ez mount stuff out again and I'm armed with some talc see Katharina blog for a pic tutorial and many thanks Lynn for the tip

Oops nearly forgot I've been tagged by Hilmarose 7 Things Game:

The Rules for 7 Things:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
I haven't forgotten but need to think up 7 interesting things of a basically boring person.

Monday

I made the kids a card to give to their Grandma, I thought it was no good waiting to be asked because they would ask the night before. I used the cricut for the 80 first as a template then to cut out the papers. The middle of 0 was on the table and used for the sentiment inside. Not sure of the papers and the stamps are Magnolia stamp club.

I gave up on the Cyber crop I was having such trouble to download the classes and print pics yesterday I decided my state of mind was more important. There is definitely a prob somewhere on the PC. I did do a couple of classes the first one is from Clo clo.
And I couldn't not do Cleo's cheeseholing class although I may have over did the holes. This was the only class that I had the kit from Ellie at Mod scraps.
I also did a double LO for MIL book so only two pages to go.

Best Laid Plans

I'll start with Di Hickman sketch April#4 the square flowers are a stamp which I can't find the make but the other flowers and words are HOTP, papers are K&co. Below is a little book for the first class on UKS you put the rub on's on the plastic sleeve but only some of mine are because some rub on's would and others wouldn't. The pics are of J 1st birthday and the cardstock and papers are all scraps.

So I saved yesterday as cyber crop day well that so didn't happen like I wanted, I should of known on Friday night when I couldn't find the classes that things were not going to go my way. Saturday morning my PC was extremely slow, so by the time I had deflagged, cleared out cookies etc run spyware it was like 3 hours later and I have a faster PC but not on the site I wanted! Then the Postie knocked on the door and when I opened the front door, the kitchen door slammed and the door catch stucked and I was stuck in the hall, PC in the dining room and my craft room the otherside of that door. Eventually managed to get it opened at the cost of hurting my hand. And of course when I tried to print pics the ink in the printer had run out not a problem made sure I had a new cartridge but its nearly all gone because I had to clean the printer heads to get rid of the streaks. Even my new Tilda's and Sugar Nellies couldn't cheer me up but Marlene has a card class on UKS today I'm sure that will. I'm also a bit behind on my blog hopping but as Arnie says I'll be back.

Cute Card Saturday

Cute Card Thursday was for a girly card, should of been easy but with so many girly stamps to choose from I didn't know what to use till the Postman arrived with the stamp club from Magnolia. I was in a bit of shock first they came unmounted, I usually stick a bit of glue stick on the back and wash it off but all other Tilda's are on ez mount so I got onto the Joanne Sheen website recommended for the fab service and brought some ez mount and yes it was brilliant service it arrived the next day. But the ez mount should come with a health warning its like super glue on foam, my best result was with my craft knife with a new blade. When I had a bit of moan on a forum someone gave me a brilliant link on Katharina's blog if only I saw it before I started but it will come in handy for the summer stamp club and the sugar nellies that are on their way.
Back to the card, I've used chatterbox papers, the swing and Tilda are from the stamp club it had birds with it but I love the cute ones that I already had, swirls quickcutz flourishes and the sentiment stamp HOTP.

Dotty and Snowflakes!

So here's my dotty ATC which is the latest challenge on Tilda & Friends, I was going to use dotty ribbon but all the dots were driving me dotty so I used the strips of matching Artic frog.

Now today is Rudolph Day and I finally get to use the snowflakes stamps from Stampin up. Now on the Arty Girlz challenge blog it was to make you're own backgrounds but I don't think they just mean to stamp some snowflakes on imaginesce cardstock that I brought specially to stamp snowflakes with versamark and white embossing powder.

So I stamped the snowflakes on some watercolour card and using acylic paints I painted over the snowflakes then lightly wiped over the page with a babywipe which helped to show up the snowflakes and lighten the colour and the I then used the babywipe with a darker blue inkpad which I then used to ink the edges. Just added some bling and glitter.
So thats it for this month's Rudolph Day till next month.

Tonight it the UKS Cyber Crop my family think I've gone potty because I plan to join in especially as I can't go to Scrapbuddies Crop next week which I'm so not happy about. Just have a couple of cards I want to make and then it will be scrapbooking all weekend.

Couple of Cards

I was a bit stumped with this week sketch challenge on CPS until I left open a draw open and saw the butterfly stamp and the lastest challenge on DCM was to use copper or wool, as you can see I used copper. The butterfly stamp is Hampton Art and the word stamp is unmounted so I can't find the manufacture in fact I couldn't find the stamp, I knew I had it just didn't know where I put it as you can see I did find it with the woodmounted words, logically really. The papers are BG not sure which collection and the because I felt it looked flat I put the gems in the corners. Still not sure about it.
This card was nice and easy compared to the one above its Nicola's sketch from Paper World and I used a penny black stamp, a bit of doodling and the papers are Dovecraft and I made a pinwheel out of some scraps, this will probably end up as a man's card so I didn't want to stick a bloom on it. Didn't bother with a sentiment until I knew whether I shall use it for Father's Day or not.

Trust me to mess up the Modscraps order, I only do it with them so I spoke to the lovely Ellie yesterday while DH was at home told him I brought a kit for the cyber crop on UKS just didn't mention the rest of the order!

And best of all I won the fish on Tilda & Friends ATC challenge, I'm over the moon, pop over there this week the challenge is dotty.

Katharina's sketch 2

Over at Papertake Weekly Katharina's done another super sketch which of course I had to do. The patterned papers are chatterbox and the paisley cuttlebug folder for the background to Tilda, who is coloured in prismcolours and sansdor. Funny enough I think it would have worked for Hot and Spicy over at DCM.
Another page for MIL I trying to think less is more, I think sometimes I have a group of patterned papers that match and must use them all. The patterned paper is Tinkering Ink and so is the borders. The fancy shapes are a cuttlebug die and some nice bling brads.

The postman has been kind, both the stamps I ordered from the Glitter Pot are here, I also ordered another set of nestabilities from Once upon a Stamp and I'm now the brand owner of some of the new crate papers and matching bazzill from Paperarts. I may have ordered a kit for the Cyber Crop on UKS from Ellie from Modscraps and just maybe other things fell into the basket! And today I've received an e-mail with the cost of shipping from High Hopes so it looks like they're on their way too.

Ismaki #16

This is Bea's sketch at Ismaki this week, I turned the sketch and used Daisy Bucket papers and used a Magnolia. The Babies sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp which has soon as I saw the sketch I wanted to use. I paper pieced her romper so she co-ordinates with the paper. The little flowers are magnolia's too and as they were small I thought that three was better than two.

Another page for MIL book this is my DH, I've used Tinkering papers which I thought look great online but was disappointed in real life.

Something for Monday

Well I did think I might not be able to get on blogger to update this morning, first my anti virus thingy was running and basically I'm lucky to open a page on the internet but my PC would come to a standstill if I try opening a photo editing program. Then blogger didn't want to upload more than one photo at a time but at least I'm here now.

My first pic is of the card I've done for the Tilda & co challenge for girly but blue, the papers are DCWV, probably one of my favourites Tilda I so love layering her petticoats it always look pretty, she did have a belt but I lost it but I think I prefer it without especially with the soft coloured papers.

Now this is me with a very talented lady Francoise Read, if you use Woodware stamps there's a good possiblility that this lady designed them. She was happy for Sis to take a picture so that I can use it for my a-z journal (this week is I so we're talking Inspiriation).

Here are the two cards we made on Saturday, she had some great examples of how she had extended the scene by using some of the stamps of the set. She also showed cards where they're peeking over the fence, unforturnately Mick at the shop had sold out so when I got back to Sis I visited the The Glitter Pot.

Hot and Spicy

Hot and Spicy is the challenge on DCM so I've used red, orange and ginger colour card and some Daisy Bucket papers, the flower is one out of my stash with a couple of primas in the middle. I've followed Di Hickman April#3 sketch for the layout of the card. I used quickcutz flourishes for my swirls.

Back at my Sis's early this morning so will upload Francoise class tomorrow.

Born to be Wild

The Cute Card Thursday challenge was for a man's card not sure if this poor old soul can be classed as cute, he's a diamond stamp that brought from a craft show a few years back so not sure if he's still made the sentiment was brought at the same time. I've used glossy accents on the balloon and his glasses. I doodled the frame round him and the papers are BG cupcake. I may keep him for DS birthday.

Frozen Wet

Well the Tilda & Friends ATC challenge was wet and windy, big problems for me cos I don't have anything wet or windy in magnolias but Andrea had used skating Tilda for Frozen wet so I went even farther snow, well it is frozen rain! So out came frozen Tilda and the goblins tree trunk, the moss bit on the tree is now snow. Glitter card for snow and snowflakes and glamour dust over Tilda. I have now put the glitter away hopefully for a while.
I also now own a Fairie poppet, stamps that really didn't appeal to me especially seeing them glittered but Marlene has used distress inks to colour in and I thought WOW. If you're local to Farnborough Hants they have them in the Art of Craft at North-camp.
Tomorrow I'm off to Artists and Authors or is Authors and Artists, well any way its in Fleet Hants and we've booked a class with the wonderful Francoise Read. We're doing the afternoon class so we're having lunch with Carmen Jellybean and Francoise is coming too providing her class in the morning doesn't overrun too much.

CPS#60

So while the glitter is out, I made a christmas card using CPS sketch#60. When I saw the sketch I thought baubles but I don't have any of the size I would need so I wanted something that I had two of and not too large and I thought of these little cuties from Judikins. I have paper pieced their dresses with some BG lilykate but all the other papers are DCWV it was a bit scary using the nestabilities and one poor angel lost her feet! Good job I made more than one angel just in case. A little bit of glitter on their wings and it was finished.

All that Glitters

My poor DH looked at his spaghetti bolgnese and has the sunlight caught his dinner, it glittered. Yes I've had the glitter out and its not even Christmas, the challenge on Papertake Weekly was to use glitter. I haven't used these two creative expression butterflies stamps with glitter for a while and was annoyed with the glue because it had gone thick and it hasn't dried has flat has it normally does. I was also out of pratice using the glitter it went everywhere it shouldn't. I layered the butterfly parts, the paper is BG lilykate and the used the Magic Moments and scallop oval stamps from a Scrapagogo kit.
I saw something wonderful yesterday my two kids having a pleasant conversation together its only taken 24 years.
