Hot Mouse

I love these papers so much so I've had to buy some more MJ at Every Moment Matters, they're SEI Mimosa and they are perfect for this weeks Simon Says Stamps challenge for Hot Summer colours. I popped over to Simon Says Stamps shop I do like to choose a stamp that Heidi sells but you don't have if you want to join in. The little chap is of course Penny Black and the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Pauline is celebrating her year of blogging with a fabulous candy, one of the ways to enter it is to link it on your blog otherwise I wouldn't be telling anyone but keeping it a secret so I can win it.
Talking about candy don't think my counter will wait till the weekend to hit 100,000 but look out next week after I've been to Newbury I'm sure I can find some goodies there.

Boys cards

Hubby wants a card for his friend who is retiring and he liked the card I made for our friend in Spain, now I know its a compliment but I'm not that keen on making complete copies of cards I've done. So I've used the sketch on Sketch Saturday and some Bloom and Grow papers so it almost the same.
There's a little chap who first birthday is coming up and the challenge on Stamp with fun is for Turquoise and brown colours and I found these papers not sure who by. I thought I would have a go at distressing with distress ink like Kim's tutorial but it looks like I overdid it a bit. I use the cricut to cut out the number and letters.
I've award from Clare which asked for 10 honest things about yourself will sort this out tomorrow.

Wimbledon Penny Black

There's a fabulous sketch on Penny Black challenge from Nat and although I pleased with this card perhaps I haven't done enough justice to Nat's sketch so might use it again maybe not with a PB. As soon as I saw these critters with rackets I knew I had to buy it, my Son is an avid tennis fan having played a lot when he was a teenager in fact he was very good till he's knees played up something he blames me for something to do with genes he tells me.
My first problem was the shuttlecock, I had to mask it out then I couldn't find a tennis ball stamp so I had to make one. Then I wanted to use acetate for the inside of the rackets and thought maybe it would be too fiddly but it wasn't too bad. I had no problem choosing the papers the DCWV Latte pack have the perfect wimbledon colours.
Good Luck to Andy Murray and hope my son takes a hat with him to Wimbledon today. I've already made him he's birthday card so I will give this to my DD to give to him.
This is how I made the photo corner which are really easier to make and you can vary the size to whatever you want. For the pic above the square is 4cm and I measured a cm in from the edge all the way round then, a diagonal line across the middle which I then cut. I cut out the shaded areas too.
It leaves you a pair of these and if like me, you ink the edges then stick onto a piece or c0-dinating card in the corner then use a ruler to measure, make a border.
You then cut out the middle leaving a border. I have to thank Ellie at Mod Scraps who showed me how to do this when I first started Scrapbooking.

Many thanks to Spyder for the fabulous award.
So in January I hit 50 000 hits which was brilliant but I've noticed my hits have nearly reached 100 000 mark another 50 000 in less than six months so it looks like I will be buying some blog candy at Newbury.

Hot Summer Tilda

Another fantastic sketch over on Friday Sketchers this time from Carole and some hot papers from K & Company Berrysweet, the pack I got was the 8.5 by 8.5 and its nearly all gone so I will be looking out for another pack cos I love the vibrant colours and they are perfect for Tilda. Various flowers, my leafy punch from Leone Em, nestabilities for my oval shapes and last of all my little quickutz corners.
We are having a bit of heatwave and all the fans have had a dusting a working to full capacity very different summer from last year.

Wheels

The Cute Card Thursday challenge was for wheels so this gave me the opportunity to use this PB stamp, I also used the Mojo Monday sketch between the two of them this ended up being a large card. The image didn't lead me to putting lots embellies on so in the end I doodled a bit to break up the plainess. The papers are Daisy bucket and the corner is quite easy to make.
Gosh what a short post.

Just Tilda Friday

Thank goodness for Tilda because both my mojo and motivation had disappeared, yesterday I didn't go into my craft room all day. So this morning had a look at the new Just Magnolia challenge which is a fabulous sketch from Bev and was determined to give it a go. I do love this Tilda lots of layering of her skirt. I've used K & Company Wild Raspberry papers, the bit of lace and ribbon was in my stash and the flowers are Prima. The sentiment is from you guessed it Simon Says Stamps its on my desk and works so well with the stampin up oval punches.
It was bit of a shock to find out Michael Jackson had died yesterday he's only a couple of years older than me.

Sailor boy

I'm still struggling to find my Mojo I want to make cards but just not pleased with them, I finally just went with the flow. I've no idea who makes the bubble paper and the other is doodlebug. The little boats are cut from the cricut and the little boy is Bildmalarna that I brought from Nikki at Bunny Zoe's crafts.
A big thank you to Jacqui for the wonderful candy I received, just look at that fab card and all my new ribbons, loads of flowers and there's even a stamp from Pink gem too. She keeps apologising because she says its only a small candy, silly woman, I think its all fabulous.

Finally the winner of my blog candy very kindly donated by Simon Says Stamps for their blog hop.

Post Pals Princesss

At last I made some cards one of which I can't show but this one for the Simon Says Stamps Challenge I can. The challenge this week is for Happy Mail to make a card for a child on Post Pals. I always check out Simon Says Stamp shop because being on the DT I should at least try to make a card with a stamp that they sell but you don't have to, you can use any image.
What little girl doesn't love a Princess card, the image is WOJ and I paper pieced her with BG Wisteria papers.
Lets hope the card making continues today.

Penny Black flowers

On the Simon Says Stamps blog hop see the post below

I've had a couple of rubbish type days they happen which is why I've been missing for a couple of days added to which its totally taken away my motivation too. Not even my fave stamps could help but I did try and make this card with paper piecing the PB flowers with some Dove craft papers and used an embossing folder for the background which means I can use for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I was very lucky to win Jacqui's Penny Black candy last week hope they come in the gorgeous bag she made. I've also received my prize from A spoonful of sugar and I've got some fab stamps from Bunny Zoe's just waiting for some Whiff Of Joy, oh and the tickets for Newbury.
Fingers crossed for a better day.

Summer Tilda

Managed to make a card for Just Magnolia challenge which is for Summer, used to some hot colours from the Berrysweet papers from K& Co. The rest of the day has been chasing my tail and not getting very far.
I'm off to MJ's All day Crop tomorrow, Sis isn't coming so a cache a lift off Nikki so trying not to pack too much but it isn't working and I hope she has some strong muscles.
I have managed to make a special card for Sunday but you may have to wait till 14.00 pm but it will be worth it I promise.

A couple of cuties

I've been colouring a couple of the new Tilda's so they were nice a ready for a challenge. I've used this Tilda for the new sketch #57 on Friday sketchers well it started off with the sketch and then it went its own way. Not sure if I would stamp the corners again not convinced it looks right but I do love the sentiment button and what no flowers.
This is one of the new DT stamps I got from dream2stamp and the card almost made itself, I know I wanted to cut out the inside of the window and to use acetate for the windows. I also knew I wanted the shape to be an oval the trick was to find one that would fit. The papers is papermania Blueberry Hill and rest is out of my stash.
I have some DT work to do that I won't be able show yet but there's something happening on Sunday on the Simon Says Challenge.

The Lion feeds tonight

Now this is being organised my son's birthday isn't till the end of July and being a Leo this card is perfect for him. I've used the Magnolia Lion from their latest collection and BG Granola papers, the sketch started with Dawn's Papertake Weekly one. The lion did give me a bit of headache with the mane but in the end I cut round the fringe and slipped the top of the head through the slot I had made and then I wanted to use raffia which I knew I had brought but could I work out where I put it. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamps its stays permanently on my desk and I made a couple of tags so I could cheekily enter into the Cute Card Thursday tag challenge.
I've tried to photo the layers, not sure you can see how I slot his head in.

Sketch Thursday

Before I went on my hols I received my new DT stamps from dream2stamp, I've already used the yummy cake and this is the cute mouse that I asked Steph to be included in my pack. I've used the sketch on Sketch Saturday and BG Marrakech, the corners are sizzix die, the swirls are Quickutz. Peels off for the sentiment and I used the stampin up punches, the flower is made with various punches and nestabilities.
I'm not going to admit to shopping at the Glitter Pot but I could be back later with a card for my Son's birthday who happens to be a Leo.

A Spoonful of Sugar sketch

There's a great sketch on A spoonful of sugar and I can't resist a sketch. I did have to flip it though I cos I thought this Home Grown image from Sugar Nellies would work the other way. The paint has glossy accents on although maybe not obvious on the photo, could that be Berry sweet from K&Company again.
Look what I won, isn't she perfect, I wear glasses, my hair is about the same, Ok so the body is a lot slimmer than me but I can dream.

Birthday Frogs

I couldn't help it but I've used Simon Says Stamps frogs, for this weeks Happy Birthday challenge, this is not because its the only set I have, I do love this set particular set especially this frog. It started with the tree trunk from the Deer with forest family set and I was thinking what could sit on it, plus I was struggling with mens cards and the light bulb went off in my head "frogs". The papers are Berry sweet from K & co and I've used co-ordinations for the Happy Birthday embossing folder.
In the post today I received this Thank you card from Sue, I had already seen it on her blog and it truly a fabulous card, there is so much wonderful work and you can see all the details on her blog here.
Waitting for some glossy accents to dry and I will back with A spoonful of Sugar.

Dotty Tuesday

The challenge on Stamp With Fun is for dots and I couldn't resist paper piecing another Tilda, she work so well with this technique. The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs by Zoe Pearn and it means the dots are smaller than they would be on on 12 by 12 ideal for paper piecing. Although she can't see the flowers on the main pattern cardstock their petals look like hearts so I thought I would give it a go and see if I can make some with a heart punch, I don't think they look too bad.
I'm still catching up and although I'm bit late with thanks this award was given me from Fern who is a fabulous cardmaker and I can't believe how young she is.
Jackie has also sent it to me too, she just received some rescue battery hens you can read about them one her blog.

Penny Black Anniversary Mice

Men they make plans to be out of the house Saturday night and all day Sunday and then cancel them, I just don't get as much done as I plan when he's under foot never mind it makes a change from hubby working. I did manage to make a card for Penny Black Challenge who are celebrating their 1st Birthday, so you had to make a celebration card, I went with an Anniversary card so I could use these cute mice, the papers are K & Company, BerrySweet and blame Bev for the roses she had a link to Wild Orchid and these roses are such a good price. Just need to use them a lot to get them out of my system.
So while on holiday DD and I got out our books and popped the bookmark on the cover of the book for safe keeping while we read and hubby says where's mine, this is the man that reads one book a year. So I kept my promise and made him one using scraps, I used Simon Says Stamps, Deer with Forest Family set,
I did manage to do my CJ entry which took a bit longer than I planned too, but it worked out brilliantly but can't show it yet.
