Hedgie Roll

Just in case you had a shock and found a distressing card here' s a little something cute. The challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge is for Butterflies and Bees. Bit of cheat I've used my MS butterfly punch and some tiny pearls for some butterflies then I could use any image I fancied. I found a sketch on Our Creative Corner which would work with this image and inspired the layout. Papers are My Minds Eye and the MS lattice punch. The ribbon is not that bright and works a treat but you wouldn't think it to look at the pic.

Something Completely Different

Well this is something completely different, the challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge is for Distressing and since Heidi loves Tim Holtz stuff and she would like us to showcase Tim stuff. I'm hyperventilating just writing this.
So I started with choosing the background paper I wasn't up to making my own, I then distress round the edges with a blending tool which is great till you need to change the pad and having to accept inking fingers are the order of the day.
I have the Life's Possibilities clear stamp and I used the clock but I needed a bigger one so I have a set of clocks from Kelly Panacci and I used the largest one as well. For one of the clock handles I used a nestablities that look like clock hands and grungepaper my poor Cuttlebug wasn't happy with me so probably won't try it again, the hands were than duly coloured attached with a brad and glossy accented.
Sentiment came of the Kelly stamp set and grungeboard shape. The man looked lost so I found the word atc stamp from Crafty individuals and covered in the rock candy crackle. The man I stuck on with silicone glue to give him dimension and his brolly is covered in rock cand stickles. Phew that just left the crackle paint corners and MS border punch.
I do have one complaint, I've watch Tim videos and I watch the fabulous Leandra and Jean Hardy do they take HOURS to make one creation, think I shall stick to my cute cards less stress.
Of course you don't have to take Distressing this far, I think I was trying to prove something to myself and trust me it out of my system now.
So don't forget to check out the rest of the DT and there $25 dollar prize.

EveryBody-Art-Challenge

Remember I said I had two piece of new well one of them is that I've been asked to be on the DT on Everybody Art Challenge.
How could I say no, so my first challenge as a DT is a card for Spring. I've used my Sarah Kay's stamps for spring before so I thought it would make a change for another type of stamp so I chose a Sugar Nellie stamps and since she holding a baby lamb its definitely spring.
The papers are Cosmo Cricket and I've used the funky flower punch, a touch of lace from a friend and bit of ribbon to finish.
Do check out the challenge and see all the fab DT creations.

Surprised Tilda

First of all just want to let you know about a challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge blog . I've copied and pasted the following/
Welcome to our first challenge dedicated to everyone between the ages on 2 and 16 ,,,, we thought 1 year olds may be a bit too young !! :-) We would like to encourage all you Mum's to let your children loose in your craft rooms ha ha :-) The challenge is open for 2 weeks and will close at 10am GMT ( 9 am CET ) on Sunday 11th April
ANYTHING YOU LIKE
The theme is open so you can make whatever you like, cards, masks, bonnets, notebooks, anything you like, it does not even have to be Easter themed :-)

Heidi of Simon Says Stamps is offering a prize of $25.

Now back to my card I've used the Friday Sketchers sketch for this week, the papers are Basic Grey but without the front cover I'm not sure which one.
The sentiment is Craftwork cards and love how they fit in the stampin up oval punch.
The border punch is a MS one but it should emboss as well, not sure if its me or the punch but it doesn't emboss. The circle I cut on the Cricut and embossed with the daisy cuttlebug folder.

British Summertime

I thought the sketch on Just Magnolia was ideal for the use of my punch round the page but to be honest not sure if it works. Another of my Easter Magnolia but this Tilda will work all the year round. Whoops just noticed that I had dotted the flowers in her basket with a white pen.
The sentiment is Jane Gill set from Woodware and I've used two of them to fit in the Stampin Up punch and I've put tiny gems on some of the flowers. Papers are Cosmo Cricket, possibly Material Girl.

I've been sent this fab award from Sally all the way over in Canada. Thanks Sally.

It official we are now in British Summer Time and I've lost an hour in bed and what are the BBC Weather forcasting. I almost can't bring myself to write it but it begins with an S and ends with a W with NO in between!
edited- to sort out my bad spelling.

Pink and Green

Pink and Green with flowers thats the challenge this week over on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. This gave me a chance to use the BG Green at Heart and I've used one of the older Sarah Kays.
Gosh I didn't realise how busy this card is, I've used all my favourite, ribbon, border punch, flowers with roses and pearls.
Do check out the fabulous cards the DT have done.
I'm hoping for a crafty day but with DD home and Hubby in and out all day we will see how much I can actually get done.

The Easter Bunny

I couldn't find anything to embellish this card that I was happy with except that bit ribbon. I've used Dawny's sketch on Papertake Weekly and DCWV citrus pack, once put together it looked so cute. Easter is the challenge on on Everybody Art Challenge and I think this little chap is perfect for that too.
Quiet weekend for me so I should be able to catch up, unfortunately I'm not going to the NEC but Ally Pally on the Sunday is yes at the moment.

Heart Angel

I guess we all need a Guardian Angel at some point in life and I thought this little Angel would be perfect to send to someone who needs her. She is a Pink Gem Designs and I used a flower stamp for the large heart she is holding.
I've used the Sketch and Stash sketch with the free papers from the craft mag from ages ago, can't believe how far this pad is going I've still loads left. I've used my heart embossing folder and my MS heart border punch. The ticket is also from Pink Gem Designs and the oval sentiment is where a chopped up a stamp so it would fit in the oval.
The sparkle brads are papermania that my DD brought me. I'm so pleased with my Leone-em punch it works a treat, my old one was probably poorly for quite a while before it gave up working for me.
My DS paid me a visit with my Mothers Day present I know its a bit late but I knew what I was getting just didn't know which one. He brought not one but two packs of the new Crate Paper, now I wonder how long it will take to break into them.
Junie has asked me to dedicate this card to Gemma.
" just heard today of another child becoming another little shining star in the sky - I work with children with special needs. So your Guardian Angel card is very appropriate - would you dedicate it to Gemma please? I realise this is all a bit sad and I understand that you may not want to publish it, but it's a lovely card for a lovely little girl. Thanks Debby "
My pleasure Junie.

Tilda Bunny

A brand new challenge starts today on Simon Says Stamps Challenge and we're looking for Glimmer and Glitter and since Easter is round the corner that is our theme but if you don't celebrate Easter thats OK cos we would love a springy card.
This Easter Tilda stamp cried out to be used and I love using the deep daisy border to surround the oval and it great cos the other half I actually do use has a border.
The embossing folder I used is a Crafts too one and I glitter the butterflies, even Tilda Bunny has touches of glitter. Now my roses that do match in RL has been sprayed with Pearl but thanks to Mr Camera you can't see it, I even glittered the leaves.
No don't forget there's a $25 voucher to win to spend in Simon Says Stamps shop and do check out the DT.
I've not one but two exciting news happening but you're just going to have to wait!

Baseball Puddy cat

My teamie Chris on Simon Says Stamps Challenge also runs the challenge on Papercraft Planet for Simon Says Stamps group and theres a brilliant sketch and a super prize. I did download the picture of the prize but I can't seem to find it but it involves Basic Grey and trust me I wouldn't mind it winging its way over the sea to me.
I've used Cosmo Cricket papers, now I pretty certain you know that this chap is a Penny Black, the sentiment is one Simon Says Stamps own stamps and the dots that look like brads are the dots that are left after you've used the large hole thing with the cropadile.

Dancing Tuesday

Remember I said I wanted to make an easel card for the WOJ challenge and ended up doing a Tilda one instead well yesterday I finally made the WOJ one but I cheated and used the Sketch Saturday sketch as well.
Katharina is going to be at Ally Pally in April although it will be difficult to buy any stamps since I have most of them but it will be great to see her in RL.
The only problem with easel cards is photo them and generally I use tripod but I can't get the angles right for these cards so these are taken with the camera in my hands
I've used the My Mind's eye Penny Lane pad, MS border punch and funky flowers punch. I coloured an extra dress so I could layer it but do you think I could find it so there is barely any 3d on the image, just the handbag and her belt.
Busy day today with lots to get done.

Pretty in Pink

I needed to make a Thank you card for a friend who has been a star at taking MIL to hospital for her cataracts operation and making sure she is OK. So I thought I'll use the sketch over at Penny Black Saturday challenge and this cute Hedgie that I brought second hand. Since I used the daisy border punch the other day I wondered what the doily punch would look like and its so cute. The papers are scraps but I think they could be Paper Adventures, I had them for a very long time. The flowers have fabric roses in their centres and the Leone-em punch to finish, so happy to have a new one.
Yesterday I was at Scrapbuddies Crop hoping to get a lot done but in the end did very little although FairyKaren was showing how to make the paper roses that have been doing the rounds lately. It was much easier making then step by step in real life then trying to work it out with photos and videos.

Sunday Newspapers

All the junk from living room is in the dining room blocking the little bit of light we had today, consequently my photo are even more rubbish than normally. I've made an easel card for the Just Magnolia challenge using Friday sketchers sketch.
I've use a new Tilda and My Minds Eye Penny Lane which I brought from The Range while visiting MIL. Since Tilda is holding newspapers I thought I would make shabby chic flowers using papers with text on. I found an old computer manual and punched the circles out of it, crumbled them, inked the edges and then sprayed Glimmer Mists in pearl and irridescent gold. They have a lovely sheen but of course the camera doesn't show it.
My parcel from Monaco Direct came with my Leone-em punch Yippee one happy crafter but it could be that the fern punch that I've used today may have also arrived in the parcel whoops.
I can't believe that my list of crafty stuff to do is getting longer but now the major decorating is done just a few snags to sort out like finishing the fireplace and curtains and waiting for some new furniture.

Spring has Sprung

My minature daffs are in flower so that can only mean Spring is here and the challenge over on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is Spring has Sprung.
I think Basic Grey Origins is perfect spring colours and any gardener will know that spring means waking up the garden which this Sarah Kay image is about to do.
Various size daisies using my Woodware punches and I made this card before my Leone-em punch went in the bin, but fingers crossed thanks to Clare another one is in the hand of Post Office and arriving soon.
Don't forget to check out the challenge, the DT has done a brilliant job.
My house is in chaos except the living room its empty awaiting for the new carpet to be laid today.

Easter Bunny

The challenge on A Spoonful of Sugar is a card for Easter, well you can't make an Easter card without an Easter Bunny and one with an Easter bonnet even better. My bunny is a High Hopes stamp that I got from Bunny Zoe's and the papers are Basic Grey Kioshi. I seen on Norma blog how she uses MS border punches to go round ovals and circles so I thought I would give it a go. I used the deep daisy punch which I cut in half and it worked a treat and not to waste the other half I actually did use if for a border.
Remember I brought some fun flock and was going to add to the Flower soft well it worked brilliantly, the fun flock got into the little tiny places to give some coverage and the flower soft still looks fluffy, I can't claim this as my idea but I can say it does work.

My sis wants us to go to this so I go in touch with Beadmad on UKScrappers.

Spring Colours

I sound like a broken record but I'm not sure on these flowers either but I've so many flowers I feel I need to use them. This will be my last card using Leone-em ash branch punch it punches no more and of course everywhere its out of stock so I shall wait patiently for one.
I hope my card looks springy cos I made it for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, the papers are Making Memories and once I decided on the flowers I couldn't bring myself to add more than one sheet of pattern paper.
Hubby's taken half a day off cos we are getting desperate to finish the living room, Lee our Carpet man comes on Saturday to lay the new one and all the painting needs finishing before then.

Just for Fun

I'm not too sure on the flowers but they're stuck now, the Penny Black stamp I know its dreadful of me but I can't remember if I brought him new or he was a second hand one but he is cute. The sketch is Create4Fun and I've used the Basic Grey Wisteria, these are the papers that are left that I'm not so keen on but needs must.
I've been vanishing the fireplace didn't realise how my poor body hates me and is complaining that I must be mad but the job's done but I'm paying for it now. I've a list to do and its getting longer each day not helped by all the challenges really fancy doing the WOJ one for an easel card, but it looks like I need to rest up for the rest of the day.

A bit of Green

Happy St Patricks day and it just wouldn't be right if Simon Says Stamps Challenge didn't have a related challenge so Green is the order of the day. We are also showcasing Basic Grey, Simon Says Stamps have loads of Basic Grey and have just taken delivery of the new Kioshi and Green at Heart.
This poor Edwin stamp has remained uninked since dare I say it from last year, I brought him with good intentions to use if for a bridegroom but the poor chap is missing a wife. I made him a clover leaf for him to sit on and I used Origins since the papers are full of green. I'm using my swirl punch more at the moment because my Leone-em Ash leaf punch is having issues.
Do check out the challenge blog to see the fab creations the DT have done and don't forget you don't have to use Basic Grey a touch of green is fine and that there is a fabby prize of £25.

You're so special

There's no way I'm going to miss out using Friday Sketchers sketch but then realised that the image I had chosen was a bit big and it only just managed to fit inside the largest nestability and I had to draw round it to make the contrast mat. The papers are Basic Grey and I've used various flowers and for a change I used my swirl punch. The image is a Wags 'n Whiskers one I got from Bunny Zoe's. I'm not sure about the flowers but they're growing on me.

You need to pop ove to Pink Gems blog and see the new fabulous new stamps, off to check my bank account.

Sisters

There's a fabulous sketch from Bev on Just Magnolia and it worked a treat with my two Tilda's. The papers are those freebies again and I've used my Hero arts sentiment that I cut in half so it would fit the punch oval. I placed flowers all over the card but no matter were I placed them it look too much so in the end I went for less is more.
I have been in touch with my Sis they're back in their apartment but its a good job its chilly cos they can't sit on their balcony since the generator is underneath and makes a racket.
I'm expecting our friend today, he's making a nice frame for our fireplace which needs to get sorted by the weekend when the carpet man comes to lay the new carpet.

Celebrate

I'm suffering from withdrawal symptons from not using flowers lately so I thought this would help and its another easel card. The image is of course Penny Black but it their slapstick ones which are brilliant value for money. Sorry about the photo but the camera is in my hands and not the tripod so the poor card thinks the boat is sinking.
I've used my new MS punch which is going to be my new fave, the papers are Kaiser. The flowers are a mixture of some from Tabbycrafts and Wild Orchid. I'm entering it into the celebrations challenge on Cute Card Thursday which is celebrating their second birthday which is amazing and also one of my favourite challenge blogs.
While Sis and BIL are in Spain (still without electric and have been kicked out of the hotel since they've no vacancies) it means my hubby isn't working for him so we done a flying visit to MIL. We didn't realise at the time its Mothers Day. Hopefully Mr Blogger has been kind and posted both my schedule posts.

Hot off the Press

Oh these images are so hot my fingers are burnt to a crisp. They are the reason for Wendy from Secret Crafter has been busy with and today is the release day for the stamps. Wendy sent these images off her PC once the designs were finished. So I had a bit of problem smudging and I only had one image of each design so I look forward to have them in my hands to 3d them. Can you image this little darling once is been debbelised. I used DCWV citrus pad and I was very bad with the hero arts sentiment cos I cut it so it would fit in the stampin up oval.
I love this chap, there is talk he's gonna be called Jake like my nephew. I had a job prising the images off my DD and she was most disappointed that I'm away this weekend with no PC to order the stamps so hope there some left for me when I get back. I won some fantastic candy from Enfys on Going Buggy and when I saw those blue bubbles I knew I had to use them. The papers are Kaiser. Do pop over and see the rest of DT we are all show casing these fabby stamps and the challenge this week is for anything goes.

Thank you Enfys for the gorgeous goodies.
