WOYWW

Not sure you can see on my WOYWW this week but why is it when you go to Craft show in the back of your mind there is something you regret not buying. In my case it was the teapot set from MFT, the trouble is  the stall  had already had half of my craft money and the set including dies and stamps were about £20. So what did I do regret it and then buy it online for which probably cost me including postage about another £4. Oh well it did come in super quick time.
Another terrible thing I've done lately is joined Pinterest far too addictive but I found some amazing Clean and  Simple cards. So I decided to case this particular card, thought it would work for a mans card. It would've have helped to take the pic to the craftroom rather than rely on my memory.

First one I made my squares too large and only three, the extra button and twill was my touch. Papers are left overs from a set of printed Nitwits papers.

This time I used five squares and then when I checked the originally it in fact rectangles! Papers this time are Basic Grey and the sentiment is from a Penny Black Transparent set. I'm not entering these in the Less is More challenge even though they're are made from scraps simply because I feel it not my idea.

Anything Goes

Having discovered how easy it is to make a side stepper card I wondered if it would be just has easy to make steps on both sides of the card.  I'm glad to confirm its just as easy but lots of different size mats to work and stick and mat. But I thought this card would be perfect for the Anything Goes Challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge.

Photobucket

I have to apologise for the awful pic but couldn't find anywhere I could photo that didn't leave a shadow on one side. The papers are My Minds Eye Lost and Found Breeze and the cute bear is of course Penny Black called Nature Trail Ted. Do love this bear and I reckon I can just get away with using him for a mans card in this case for my hubby. The leaves are Sizzix and tiny flowers are an old punch with some gems to finish.
Now don't forget to join us because one lucky winner will win a fabulous prize of

Hopefully I'll be back with WOYWW later

Monochrome

It's a Monochrome challenge this week on Everybody Art Challenge and the Papermania blue capsule papers made this challenge easy to do.
I've used a Saturated Canary image One of those Days which is why I thought the blue papers were perfect. The sentiment is a woodware one and the Martha Stewart deep edge doily punch had an outing too. A few flowers and a bit of experiment with scroll punch from Ek success.
Still experimenting with her hair but I don't think my camera skills help.
Do hope you can pop over to see what the team have made and that you can join us.
Had a funny old day yesterday and didn't go into my craftroom except to get my new Memory Box dies to show a friend my new ones.
Fingers crossed I'll feel motivated and make a couple of cards today.

Same but different

I've still got a few images that have been coloured from Christmas and when I saw the sketch on Scrapbooking Sisters I thought it was time to use a couple of them.
Of course my image is Penny Black, the papers are some leftovers and a selection of snowflake punches.

Since the sketch is a nice easy one I made another card from the sketch this time I used the spotty embossing folder. Feeling smug now to think I've made a couple of Christmas cards.
Another busy few days before we go away and I want to get a couple of cards done before I go. I know when I'll get back I will need a few days to get over the journey but at least then I can catch up with everyone.

A Sarah Kay Sunday

I should of scheduled this post since I went to A Bad Taste Birthday Party last night so it was late home and a phone call at two this morning from DS saying he had lost he's house key. So Hubby had to get up and take the spare. It looks like they were taken rather than lost so first job this morning is a trip to B&Q to get a new lock.
Anyway back to my card with another new Sarah Kay I got recently and also the First Edition Spring Drop papers. I've used the sketch from Creative Inspirations and since its not that far from Mother's Day and my Mum loves busy cards this would be perfect. The flowers are are Prima but they had these tiny blobs of white pearl but I cut them out and put some large pearls instead, much better.
I think thats the end of the busy few days this week, now I just need to take it easy for the next busy weekend.

Penny Black Saturday and Make Show report

Not sure why my puddy cat is so wishy washy yet the papers look nice a bright, its pretty obviously that photography isn't something I excel at.
It's sketch time at Penny Black Saturday challenge this week and as you can see I used a Penny Black pussy cat slapstick stamp. The papers are My Mind's Eye and the Woodware punches were working overtime for the flowers and leaves.

Here's the sketch we're using designed by Nat one of the DT and we have a fab prize from Fantastic Ribbons who are at The Make It Show at Farnborough Hants this weekend. I know for a fact they have some fab gingham ribbon and some spotty grosgrain. A bit of tip if there is a group of you why not buy 20 rolls for £25 works out at £1.25 a reel.
I had a great day out at the show but I purposely went to just have a browse, honestly I don't need any paper  and I'm not sure I would find much for scrapbooking but I don't think I would have had a problem at finding some for cards. My Mum's Craft Shop had a table of 6inch pads from various manufactures.
I don't need stamps having recently brought my much loved Sarah Kay, the London Penny Black and maybe a few LOTV fell in my basket online too.
But my downfall was the first stall was Oyster Crafts who had all the new Memory Box dies, bang went half my budget! I did manage to get a guillotine for £20 at CraftyDevils, I'm so fed up that when I'm at crops my paper trimmer fluffs up the cardstock just got to remember to keep my fingers out of the way guillotine blade!
A lot of the time was chatting with crafty friends.
Don't forget to join the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and check out the team.

Sarah Kay

Well this is a schedule post cost I'll be having my porridge at my Sisters who as you know she has the slowest PC in Hampshire!
This Sarah Kay is one of the few new ones I've recently brought, I love Sarah Kay and I've used the sketch this week from Sketch Saturday. The papers are First Edition leap something and the ribbon is stamping up. I spent ages trying to add flowers but gave up and stuck on some gems.
Back home tonight, nothing like you're own bed and maybe a confess to how much I brought.

Less is More-Wedding

So latest challenge on Less is More is for dies, how can using dies be difficult, well the first problem, which one do I use and then there's having to get up and down to use the Big Shot which is in the other room. This wouldn't be so much of problem of my hip wasn't have on of it days or should I say weeks and it didn't help that Mr Cricut wasn't working either.
I did have some spellbinders fancy tag dies that I brought from Simon Says Stamps before Christmas that I hadn't used, how bad am I.
The plan was to make some CAS cards with Christmas sentiments but just didn't happen. But it worked for a Wedding card although to my eyes its a bit boring and I could do better.
One bit of good news Thanks to Jenny at Provocraft, my Cricut is now better but because the problem was the update and because I had registered my cricut if we couldn't get it working they would have replaced it. So it always pays to register your product.

Spring is it Here Yet

I think the warm weather has had an affected my card making with these spring like colours. I'm still struggling with lack of Mojo and I've used the latest Sketchy Challenge.
The papers are First Edition and of the course this is a digi image from Mo, if you were lucky to snag this as a freebie but if not you're find her here.
The flowers are the Woodware daisy punches with circle punches for the centres.
I've got to pack an overnight bag since I'm sleeping over at Sis tonight this is so she doesn't haven't to fight through rush hour traffic to pick me tomorrow so we can go to the Make it Show at Farnborough Five. Most import thing is to remember the tickets cos I brought them and my craft money.
Then next week we're off to see MIL but Hubby has agreed to a diversion to Peterborough where we plan to stay overnight before going to Sir Stampalot following morning. So it means I mustn't spend all my pennies this week.

Whoops

There's a recipe this week at Simon Says Stamps Challenge but someone used two images and the recipe became 3 papers by default.

Photobucket

I've used Hope and Grace from My Greeting Farm, yes it was me that used two images but how could I chose between them. The papers are My Minds Eye and I used nestablilities to make my aperture.  With Martha Stewart punches to make the fence and grass. The flowers are CC five point flower die with some gems and of course a ribbon to finish.
Now don't forget to check out the amazing creations from the team and if you join us you could be in with a chance to win this fabulous prize.

Bubbles

We have a fabulous sketch for this weeks Everybody Art Challenge and we're also showcasing some of the gorgeous Paper Shelter digi images. I've used Magic Bubble Bath and those blue Papermania capsule papers.
My deep edge doily punch had an outing for the borders and a compilation of the retro flower punches, the faux brads are a 1/4 inch punch and some dark pearls for a finishing touch. I also used glossy accents on the bubbles.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and check out all the fabulous creations made by the team and we would love for you to join in.
I promised myself I would use my Gypsy more so I updated it the other week and yesterday I used it but its killed my cricut and the screen is showing goobledy gook, tried to reset it but its still the same. Not sure what to do about it now guess its a phone call to the US, its a bit of pain since both are out of warranty.

Sweet Monday

I've choosen another sketch challenge this time Sweet Sketch Wednesday to help me with the lack of mojo.

The image is a sweet WOJ girl and the papers are Dreamcatcher from First Edition.
I've used a flower embossing folder but dotted the dots and the corners are Quickutz. The scallop square are nestablilites but I cut the squares out and finally the butterfly is a Kars punch with some pearls to finish.
Had a fabulous time at the crop and almost made two layouts still quite a bit to be done to finish but its card making today.

It's my Party

Its' really hard not to like the Saturated Canary images, I've tried but they're such a challenge to layer with all the different layers and I love a challenge. Especially love this Partyhardy one with the bunting.
The papers are Country Drive from Echo Park and the flowers are of course my retro punches from EK success, the corner is a cuttlebug die.
Just a bit of ribbon to finish.
The busy week caught up with me yesterday and I had to take it easy so I would be able to go to the crop today but I managed to do a bit of colouring instead. I've been stalking craft stores waiting for the new Sarah Kays but had to strike two more off my wish list to bring the cost down but well pleased they arrived yesterday.

Pearls and lace

I  merrily made this card and just when I got ready to photo I suddenly realised that this card was for the  Penny Black Saturday Challenge and it was for Pearls and Lace and at that time there was no pearls and as for lace well I'm hoping the Memory Box border die will suffice for that. So a pearl for the flower and in the corners and on the Princesses crown, phew looks like I got away with by the skin of my teeth.
The papers are Papermania capsule ones and of course the flowers are punches and by sorting out some ribbon I discovered this perfect blue spotty one.
Looked the love cards last week so hope you can join and this week, there's a fabulous Mimi stamp to win and if you need some inspiration don't forget to check out the team.

Did you know that Mr Blogger has changed the word verification to something almost totally unreadable. If you have word verification you may find more people will comment if you didn't have it.
When you make a new blog its a default setting, you may not know you have it.  So you need to go into settings and then comments, scroll down to the word verification and just above it is the comment moderation if you're worried about spam then tick this. You can check out the comments before they publish which is what I do. When checking back just click on the comments tab and they will all be there to check.

Since moving back to my craftroom I have been so busy that I haven't been crafting but hope to remedy that today.

Is it a Plane

I know I wasn't going worry about challenges but I was stuck with no mojo and needed a sketch to get the creative juices flowing. So I've used the sketch at Sketch and Stash and when I saw someone had used stars it was lightbulb moment cos I had this fabulous Superduper Boy from Mo coloured and just waiting for the perfect sketch.
The papers are Echo Park A boy's life, I confess I brought the 12inch pack as well as the 6inch pad with the intention of scrapbooking with them but I'm trying to avoid the new packs. The star are nestablilities, I cut the patterned paper out using the dies but I draw round them the dies to make the mat underneath. I inked it all with charcoal cats eyes pad to make it a bit grungy and of cours I've taken a rubbish photo as normal.

All striped Out

I have decided that Mandi and Chrissy from LIM must have shares in the card companies cos their challenges mean that so many of my efforts end up in the bin!
And who thought of stripes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After discovering I don't have anything stripey in a way of stamp. In the end I've used a ruler, dunked it in the inkpad and stamped it but while lifting up I pulled it up so my lines are distressed.
Instead of using distress ink pads I've actually used stamping up inkpad So Saffron and Old Olive with a touch of Soft Suede and I used the foliage set from them too.
The sentiment is Penny Black, seeing has its nice and grungy it would make a decent mans card.

I've got all my Sisters with me.

It's time for a blog hop at Mo's Dream Team and this time its Julie turn to host and choose a theme which is music.
Ok I cheated a bit the paper although you can't see it that well has musci on and if you look very closely to the flowers I have three punched musical notes floating on plastic sticks ( they had pearls on but I cut them off). That means the music element is sorted and I could use Joy  ( you can find the image here) don't you love the sisters very apt at the moment with the fabulous series Call the Midwife on the BBC, whoops going off the subject.
This is the verse inside the card.

Here's a close up of the flowers I think you can just work out where the notes are

.
Now if you still with me and you came my way from Julies blog you need now to hop along to Heidy. Remember to comment on everyone on the way there a couple of random prizes to spend in Mo's store.

Beauty Queen Drop Out

I'm suppose to be making a card but Mr Mojo has flown the nest so I thought I'll post my latest Scrapbooking pages. DD dressed up up as the Beauty Queen Drop-out for a Pub crawl last year and she let me take photos.
They cried out to be scrapped and it just had to be girly and pink, quite a lot of pink. I used the retro flower punches and the magnolia swirl for the flowers. The pennant punch from stampin up came in handy too.  I can't work out the layout that inspired this one but the bunting placing wasn't my idea.

Letting me have the opportunity to take photos meant trying to get as many as I could before I get told off but it did mean I could layout all the different expressions. Including the one that telling me stop.

So this two pages with be together in the album this is my prefer way of doing double layouts but I think you've heard that before. I think you can see them better if you click on them if Mr Blogger lets you.
Sunday is the Scrapbuddies crop at Mychett I hoping to do some scrapbooking and less chatting!
