sugar bowl

Don't hold your breath but its blue skies this morning and not a bit of rain, not sure how long that will last. My card this morning is a Sugar Nellie and the sketch is from the Sugar Bowl.
You know there's something I'm not happy about and this time is I forgot to run a paint brush over her face to remove the glitter.
The papers are Doodlbug and my Funky flower punches had a look in for a change and the butterfly punch is from Kars, not forgetting the swirl which is MFT. I also used the Deep Edge punches from Martha Stewart for the trellis and the doily border and tons of glamour dust for her wings.
I'm hoping for a quiet week and long weekend at home which I finish of several layouts that need titles.

Sunday Sassy

There are so many Sassy Cheryl cards on Pinterest and I follow some blogs who using them a lot. Thinking they're be quick to colour and layer I brought a few. They are easy to colour but there are just as many layers. This one is called Sassy Sally Cutsy, the papers are cosmo cricket papers and the sketch is this week PaperTake Weekly.
The flowers are Woodware punches to copy the ones on the paper I placed them in circles. The ribbon was tricky because its really a bright red I dirtied it with distress inks but it really wanted to be even darker and the bit on the right to copy the sketch bugs me.
I did love making Sassy Sally and with that I brought a few more especially has I'm finding stamping hard on the old hands.
Its awful to say but I'm grateful that we back on the start of a new week, why is it that I have weeks of no where to go and suddenly I have a few appointments all in the same week especially as the week started a bit delicate with my bones. The next tricky time will be the next crop day of the two I go to, both are on the same weekend.

Spring

It's Spring again, well it is at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I've chosen a mouse Penny Black and I think he's been to the Garden Centre to buy some plants for his garden but with our weather at the moment he's going to get wet planting them.
The papers are First Edition Boho Chic and I've used the Memory box die border, which I've coloured the leaves and flowers. Not sure thats worked.
The sentiment is Stamping up but I've used nestabilies for the scallops frames, wouldn't be my card if there was a bit of ribbon or a bow.
Do blog hop over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous cards the team have created and while you are there, check out the gorgeous ribbons we have as a prize from Fantastic Ribbons.
Really quick post had to write last night with DD standing over me she wants to use the PC since its the only one with a printer connected to it. Now lets hope the new Mr Blogger will schedule correctly.

Less is More

I decided to make another card for the Less is More challenge, trouble is I left out the pearls and I'm still not sure whether it less is more enough.
I was searching for the crackle stamp for the egg for the Simon Says Stamps cards on Wednesday and found a couple of stamps that make this gorgeous flower. Its very well inked since I had them for a long time  but when I put the flowers together my hubby told me "lovely poinsettias" which wasn't the plan at all. So I made a couple of Christmas cards instead.
I'm sorry for using the Sizzix embossing folder once again especially has I think its retired.

I've made several of these flowers, so I had to make another card. It look like a box but it isn't just gives the idea. This time I put pearls on my lattice and the top is using the sizzix die from Stamping Up.
I'm hoping to get into the craft room today and tomorrow I'm off to MJ All Day Crop. I also want to do some more colouring since I've got some Sassy Cheryl as well as some new Mo's images.

Ladybird Fairy

Time for a bit of Cute and since I love Mo's Babies I had to have the new collection set of baby fairies. You get three fairies and some bugs. I've called this little darling Ladybird Fairy, don't you just love that little pot belly.
The sketch is Allsorts as soon as I saw the corner on the sketch I had to fold the paper over. The papers are First Edition Spring Drop and you know that the oval scallop border is from using the Martha Stewart deep edge doily punch. The senitment is Craftwork card but using Stamping Up punches.
The other Babies are all coloured just need the time to turn them into cards but its been a busy week and the weather isn't helping my joints so quite a bit of time out this week.

Cherry Blossom

This card started out as my Less Is More card you can see the heart charm that I spent hours to fix in the bow.But after I had cut out the flowers and added pearls to embossing lattice, I wondered if perhaps it was now too busy, having had my knuckles rapped for not having enough white maybe this time too many embellishments.
So with that in mind I added butterflies, definitely too busy now.

WOYWW

What a mess this WOYWW my pile of scraps are growing larger and the white card are the scraplings that are breeding from all the cards I make.
I did tidy this corner but I'm not sure you would believe me. I've a new friend in my room too. DD was sorting out her TY bears seeing if she had a rare one when this little one caught my eye. He fits snuggly in your palm of you hand and doesn't play with ribbon or my papers so I think he can stay here.
Ok we just had a flash of lightening, time to get of the computer.

Not Just One but Three

It's Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamps Challenge and the team are all showcasing Paper Smooches. Now I'll be honest they're not my type of stamps but once I started to use them well the ideas kept popping in my head.
Photobucket

So I had two sets Chubby Chums and  Eco Friendly. My first card had to be the Owl I do have thing about them. I used some Doodlbug papers to paper piece him, he had to have a branch to sit on which is Memory Box leafy branch. The background is made sponging ink, using an old template that I have and to finish a paper pieced sun.

The Eco Friendly set has lots of weather stamps and I decided to make this patchwork card. The raindrops have been made shining with glossy accents and the sun and lighting have been glitterized. I stamped the snowflakes in versarmark and embossed with clear what I should of done was embossing with white powder to make them stand out so I was disappointed with my technique and used cuttlbug snowflake die instead.

My last card I had to use the Chick and I decided he need an egg to hatch from which is using an oval nestabilities and used a crackle stamp again something that I had for years to make the cracks on the egg. Then I used a My Minds Eye paper that looks like wood and added a raffia bow. So you can see I really enjoyed playing with the stamps.

Remember you don't have to have Paper Smooches stamps to join our Anything Goes Challenge.
Not only is Heidi providing a $50 Voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp Store

We also have the lovely Kim Hughes, the designer of the lovely Paper Smooches range of stamps giving a 2nd lucky winner a choice of 2 stamp sets ! :-)

Gosh what a long post, thanks for staying with me to the end.

Wedding

I'll try not to moan about the challenge or the card but its so hard I want to moan that I wish I have made a lattice pattern in my over instead of using Punch around the page punch which I struggled a bit with.
I need quite a few Wedding cards this year so this weeks  Wedding challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is a great help.
I love making white cards especially for Weddings, I've use Mo Mannings Bride and Groom with a touch touch of colour.
The main mat is embossed with the Cuttlebug Hearts Folder not sure you can buy it now it was with a set of word dies that I've never used. A Memory box corner, nestablities frame and the Magnolia swirl for the flowers with white punched leaf. Didn't think it needed a sentiment.
Do pop over and check out the gorgeous creations from the team and do hope you can join us this week.

Fishing

I'm quite pleased how this turned especially as its a pesky mans card, it does help using one of Mo Manning's images this time its called Fishing. I believe you can get it as a Penny Black stamp but I'm finding stamping a bit hard on the hands, to do one of my images I probably stamp about five images so being able to print them out is a bit of life saver.
You know I've used a sketch this time from The Sketchy Challenge and the papers are, I have no idea I think they could be the new Cosmo Cricket but I've recently gone through some of my 6inch pads and rediscover papers so who knows.
Yes that it the Memory Box die in the corner and yet again I've used the cloud from Francoise Hot Air Balloon set from Woodware, it because its already stitching but it did mean I had to faux stitch everything in sight.  The sentiment is from Clever Cut and I'm not certain its available any more, I was really looking for my Happy Birthday circle sentiment from them which I have two but can't find either of them.

Happy Together

I made a bit of mistake colouring this fabulous Sarah Kay image and made her hat too bright and orange so I had to quieten it down with brown inkpad round the edges.
I've used the New Leap from First Edition and you know I've used a sketch which is Friday Sketch Challenge.
I've edged two of the strips with a Stampin Up border punch and the swirl is of course Magnolia finished with Prima flowers although the middles removed and a pearl in their place.
I've Hubby home today so not sure how much crafting will get done, have to check to see whose playing football. But I do need to get some done because next week is going to be a busy one.

No patterned Paper

Gosh its the weekend again and time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge this weeks challenge is for No Patterned Paper, now this challenge I didn't mind doing. You could stamp your own patterned paper but I love using dies and embossing folders.
For the bottom strip I used a Stampin Up folder and I used a Cherry Lynn die for the lattice which I added tinky white pearls. The Magnolia swirl die and MFT rolled roses die the one with two small roses added with some white flowers. Since I had put blue underneath the lattice I had use my Puddy Cat swinging on the Moon since this is my boy baby Penny Black stamp while if its a girl I usually use the Baby Hedgie in a hammock.
Now we have a fabulous prize this week from Craftwork Cards and a gorgeous selection of DT cards for inspiration so do pop over to the blog and check them out.

George and the Dragon

On Wednesday you would have seen my WOYWW post and all the tiny pieces I had cut to make this cute chap, he's called Kitchen Knight from Mo Manning.
I've got totally confused which day I planned to post this I thought it was today and my LIM yesterday (I know I was late and posted it this morning) but I did the sketch on Fussy and Fancy Challenge but there's a new challenge today so I messed that up.
The papers are A Boys Life from Echo Park and the sentiment is Penny Black from a clear set, can't help but make a banner along with the faux brad and the zigzag punch it looks like its now compulsory for a boy or mans card.
I know people have asked for a tutorial but I never was able to sort out the movie on my camera to upload onto u tube or even on my PC but I have found the one a picture tutorial I made for the High Hopes challenge blogs here.
Also I made one for Just Magnolia Monthy Challenge which is no more but I try to track down the original on my PC and maybe make a page for it but give me time to find it.

Doodling!

I have a list of things I don't like doing when it come to cardmaking or scrapbooking. I'm not keen on One layer cards and I can't doodle my limit is faux stitching. So you can understand how much I love the challenge on Less Is More.
Well I had a couple of pkts of Paper Smooches from Simon Says Stamps and I have to be honest they're not my type of cards but has they were on my desk, I noticed the cow. I remembered making a card once which I drew a black and white frame, obviously I loved doing it cos I don't think I made one since. So that is how my card is born.
The clouds are from the stamp set from Woodware design by Françoise Read with the hot air balloon and the grass is a stamp from Hobby Art which I may have to use again. The frame is just two lines drawn round the card its meant to be a bit wobbly. I am a bit annoyed that the camera is making my small cloud a bit wishy washy I've checked in real life and its fine so why pick on the baby cloud.
I'm finding my way round the new blogger editor, didn't think it was worth going back to the old version because eventually they're going to change everyone but there is definitely things I like but just as many I don't.
Since I was suppose to post my LIM card yesterday and I put my hand up and confess to forgetting I'll be back later with a card I was making on my WOYWW later.

Time for a Blog Hop

It's time for a Blog Hop at Mo's Dream Team, give me a minute while I get over the shock of my Blogger Dashboard etc looking totally different to what I left it yesterday. I'm amazed I managed to find my draft posts.

Well the theme this month's blog hop thanks to our host Heidy is a Shaker card, I decided on using Winter Fairy Halla that why I could use glitter and snowflakes in my shaker. I have to thank Spyder for the inspiration for my card when I saw her shaker card I knew that would be my starting point.
The papers are the very last bits of Kaiser Magic Happens I thinks that what its called.
Then it was a case of how many dies and punches I could use and how far does a bottle of glamour dust go since most of it was used on almost everything. I punches some tiny snowflakes and used glitter for the shaker card which then promptly stuck to the acetate so you can't see the snowflakes anyway. It was suggested after I made the card to use seed beads.

Now hopefully you've arrived to my blog from Julie but if you haven't joined  the hop yet you need to start from Heidy and you need to comment on everyone on the way to be in with a chance to win a voucher to spend in Mo's shop, I recommend putting it towards Mos new Babies Fairies they so cute and easy to colour and you get all three, you don't think I resisted do you.
Right I need to find my draft posts again so I can add my signature fingers cross that I don't lose this post too.
Phew found it, now I'm going to schedulethis post to when the blog starts lets hope that works too.

WOYWW and Scrapbooking Wednesday

Well on my WOYWW are little cut outs of the image waiting on the card to bring it to life. This will give you some idea how many bits I cut out. If you check out Mariska blog who also layers she even cuts out more than I do, but she also colours the parts not showing in black whereas I colour the orginally colour without the shading.
You may have to wait a couple of days for the card though I've a couple of posts ready for tomorrow so I don't want to spoil you.
But I leave you with some Scrapbooking the last of the wedding pages I've done so far. I've now placed photos I wish to scrapbook in the album sleeves and looks like another 10 to go before I've finished.
The pages are not in order as you can see almost the last layout is first.

I take my notebook in my craftroom to help with inspiriation but this layout you can really say I've cased it, only the embellishments, photos and papers are different.

The last two are 8 inches square, do love making these but smaller doesn't mean they get made quicker.

Sarah kay

We have a fabulous sketch this week from Dawny at Simon Says Stamps Challenge.

Photobucket

I'm using one of Stampavie Sarah Kays stamps this little darling is called Bibi and the gorgeous papers are Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two. I've also used the Martha Stewart Anywhere on the page  punch this one is called Stained Glass then I promptly covered it up which is a shame cos you can't really see how pretty it is.
I've also used MS zigzag punch I use it so much but it makes a change from using it on a boys or mans card.
Following on from my Scrapbooking I used the Memory Box Leafy Branch and the MFT Flourish dies together and the roses are out of my stash.

Now you know there's a fabulous prize to win but you have to join in with the challenge to be in for a chance.

A Mans Card

It's a Mans World this week on Everybody Art Challenge and whether you hate or love them you still have to make a Mans card eventually.
So I had this London Bus coloured up and waiting for a perfect challenge but my problem came when I popped it over the map, its a big image so I went for the Clean and Simple way and just made a Birthday banner. The sentiment is also Penny Black its on a sentiment clear set.
The bus has been made the same way as the telephone box I did a while back. There's a base layer then I cut out and layered the critters. The top layer I cut out the windows and replaced them with acetate but I used sticky fixers rather than the silicone glue I usually use. The bonnet and the mirrors are an extra layer for dimension.
Do check out the team and we would love for you to join us.
Edited  a few comments about whether it is an actual map out of book that I've used, the answer is Yes unfortunately I didn't have any London pages left so if you look its Leeds Yorkshire, the puddy cat probably used a Sat Nav and is now lost!
