Wee Baby Boy

I was so pleased to see that Papertake Weekly had a sketch this week still trying to find my crafty way since the holiday. Before I left I made sure I had a couple of rest days before we left where I spent some of my time just colouring and finally got round to colour this sweet image Sylvia Zet.
I did have a bit of issue, I have the digi but if I had the stamp I would have stamped on accetate and cut out the wheel and stuck the coloured bits onto it but I would need a special acetate to use in the printer and although I possibly had some it was in a safe place.
I was kinda stuck on how to decorate so I decided to use the Lavish Branch from Memory Box and some CC Designs flowers. The papers and sentiment are LOTV.

Got round to take a jaunty angle shot.

Yes I know its those snowflakes again but they're are new. First of all I cut out several Simon Says Stamps Maryann snowflake and used a repositionable glue pen on them. I cut out the  Circle Card Border in white and placed my snowflake over it and then using a blue inkpad blended colour over them, once happy pull the snowflakes off.

I then used a couple of the snowflakes to make the one in cut out circle placing a piece of thread in the centre.
I cut round the Circle Card Border so I could make a base to stick the inked centre and the blue edge together then hang the snowflake. Using sticky fixers to stick to the actual card.
Just had to add the Christmas die and I used the Christmas word stamps to make my fishtail banner.
Has per usual the resist snowflakes show up much better in real life.

If you're stuck for inspiration don't forget to check out the Simon says Stamp Blog full of tips and ideas.

Country Snowflakes

This looked so much better in real life, I was trying to use the sketch on Splitcoast Stampers 459 but I decided the middle panel had to go off centre so it now doesn't look like the sketch.
The Snowflakes are some new ones from Simon Says Stamps, they called Maryanne and I just cut out a few a layered them on the centre panel. I also brought the Merry Christmas die from them too but when it arrived I was disappointed that they looked like they were joined together but actually they're not once you cut them out.
My middle panel I was experimenting with the MFT grass die to see if it worked instead of the punch since I'm having issues with my shoulders at the moment not sure that worked. I used the scoring board for the embossed stripes.
Not my best but it does look better in real life.

Now with the clocks going back I've been told I should publish my card for the new Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge at 3pm so will see you then with my card. Now I've been told its 1pm so thats when I'm going to publish, trust me I had enough trouble with working out the time when we came back from spain without the clocks going back to confuse me more so I not going to be able to work out US time!

Winter Fairy

Lucky me Everybody Art Challenge has a sketch this week to break me in gently back into challenges and it was helped with some new snowflakes from Simon Says Stamps (by the end of the week you will be fed up with them but I think they're going to be favourites)
Instead of a circle I have used a large snowflake well you have to when you are using the gorgeous Winter Fairy Halla from Mo Manning.
The papers are from LOTV which are gorgeous but I really need to work out what to do with the scraps. Martha Stewart Icicle punch and then lots of glitter and flower soft with fun flock for fluffy stuff.
Do pop over and check out the team and their gorgeous creations and hope you can join us this week.

Love Signs

I made a card, I saw this weeks Sketch Saturday and thought it was a perfect sketch to get me back on the wagon. But it was all going swimmingly until I chopped off the too much of the side of the image. I needed a bit more room to give my balloons some space.
That means the pattern paper was larger than it should be and I'm not sure the piece of twine is really doing anything and I'm tempted to take it off. Its not as if I haven't already my roses were upside down and I had to lift everything off to put them the right way.
At least Mo Manning image worked as it should, she is called Love Signs and I paper pieced her dress and balloons.
The wind as picked up this morning and the tiles on my house are making a racket, fingers crossed thats all it does do.

Multi coloured snowflakes

I've only scrapbooking left in my drafts after these CAS  snowflake cards, but I did make a card yesterday supposedly CAS but seemed to take all day, I haven't got round to photograph it yet.
The Snowflake cards are using the Creative Expression snowflake that I've had for many, many years and the I think the sentiment is an old Stampendous one, all I know its one I can't part with. I stamped in a grey ink to give the illusion of silver.

I coloured them in various colours with my pencils and drew the lines around the card but I don't think they'll go in normal post due to the large gem.

Thank you for all the kind wishes I just need a few days to get over the holiday and then it heads down and complete my Christmas Cards. Need to total the few I have already done but I do know I must make some thin ones.
Hope you remembered to turn back you clocks last night.

Deer Stalking

First of all I need to apologies as you can see this card is not a Penny Black one although I'm wondering if the sentiment is off a Tranparent set but I made the card a while a go and I don't think I can cheat. After swimming I felt the last few weeks caught up with me and I was exhausted, here's hoping to feeling better this morning, I have some DT cards to make for next week and its touch and go whether I'll get them done.
You probably seen that the card was made using the sketch on LIM some time ago too but although I like how it turned out the white embossed trees look cream to my startling white card and Holly.
I finally caved in and brought the trio of deer that everyone used last year and the Holly is either Marianne or Joys can't remember which but I dusted some grey to over it before I released it from the die.

Art of Craft Snowflake

I really don't have many cards in draft and they're all CAS not sure if I'm up to crafting yet although I've got some beautiful Christmas dies from Simon Says Stamp.
This card is made with the Marianne Die that I saw made up at Ally Pally at the Art of Craft stall and I know I needed it. I use the die three times but before I lifted it out I inked it to give the delicate look.
Added a snowflake in the middle and coloured a large pearl which was very cream to a pale blue using a copic pen.
It won't go into the normal post since the pearl is too big but I love how it worked out anyway.
I want to thank the many Birthday wishes both Hubby and myself received while away, we were extremely lucky with the weather is was dry, sunny and warm. Obviously we ate and drank too much, now we are home I need to get the little extra weight round my middle off so off to swimming this morning.

Cream Shawl

This was my first attempt at a crochet pattern that was in the Simply Crochet magazine it turned out beautifully only wish I could find the pattern I wanted to make a black one but couldn't find it and had to use an alternative.
The Scarf ring and stick came with the copy not sure I would use but it looked like nice for the photo. The wool or cotton in this case was 4ply Patons which I brought at Hobbycraft for their buy 2 get one free offer.

Still need to work out how to decrease and increase and to distinguish between USA and UK patterns!

Skiing friends

I'm back but not sure how I'm feeling so I'm putting my trust in Mr Blogger again. This morning I'm using the cute Irma and Vieno Skiing from Mo Manning. I actually got the girls and coloured it about February this year so they've had a long wait.
The papers are Kaiser again from last year's Christmas papers and I was reminded that I have used the fabulous tree die from Dee Distinctly Dies that I got last year recently so here it is.

The angle shot, fairly light on embellishments but that seems the way I'm going at the moment possibly heavily influenced on CAS.

Halloween

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for the Christmas/Happy Holidays  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher !! :-)
This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

HALLOWEEN and/or HALLOWEEN COLOURS

ie ORANGE / PURPLE / BLACK

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

I've been waiting for this challenge to show off my pumpkins, since receiving the Hey Pumpkin set from Simon Says Stamps I've been wanting to make pumpkins but I saved it for their challenge. They are made with an oval punch or die and circle punch or die but with the circle one I used the punch/die again to make is smaller.  Then I used the Pumpkin face from the die set to for the centre of the pumpkin, only then did I stick them together to form a pumpkin.
Since I love my Penny Blacks and the Halloween ones only come out once a year I chose my Catman. I've used a couple of the Leafy Branch from Memory Box to give hanging branches over shadow box and once again I fiddled with thin thread to tie my spiders from the tree which by the way are from Memory box.

Splitcoast Stamps Sketch

Having discovered sketches on Splitcoast Stampers I check them out now again and sometimes I have a lightbulb moment but I don't always have time to put it onto paper, which is why the SCS challenges don't have an end time. Just make a note of the keyword and it will help you find it again and to load to the right gallery.
This sketch is for SC456 dated 10/2/13 and as soon as I saw I wanted to give my squares two curved corners because I have seen some fab cards recently with that shape. The embossing folder is a Sizzix and the Snowflake is a Memory Box one called Tivoli and the other one is Simon Says Stamps Faceted Snowflake.
See you back here with the new Simon Says Stamps Wednesday challenge.

The Godfather

So I have a couple of layouts still to show this time its my DS with pictures I stole from Facebook (this is the only way I can get nice photos of my children these days)
He is attending the christening of his friends son not only that they foolishly asked him to be his Godfather hence the title.
The papers are My Minds Eye and the little books were from a cricut cartridge at MJ crop which now escapes me.
A bit CAS but that seems to be my direction at the moment.

Feathers

Fabulous new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge this week we're looking for feathers and it just so happens I had this adorable image from Sylvia Zet already coloured. It just so happens that the feather die from Simon Says Stamps landed on my doormat just in time too.
The papers are from Kaiser and the flowers I had forgotten about possibly because the above my head in the craftroom. The leaves are the Lavish Branch from Memory Box but this time I only cut the lower branches.

Here is the angle shot

But I also took the picture of the side so you can see my layers although you can tell I don't raise them that high only just as if it was real life.
Do hope you have time to pop over to the challenge and check out the team but also hope you have time to join us this week.

Snow Pals

I was experimenting with stamping round the image but keeping the whole layout CAS, I think this worked.
But there is alway one isn't there, I didn't like the depth of the grey inkpad so I stamped on the second print except when I had a senior moment and forgot.
The cute pair is called Snow Pals you can guess they come from Mo and now I didn't forget to colour one side of her jacket believe it not thats what the camera did it looks perfectly fine in real life.

The sentiment is a Stampin Up one but I'm pretty sure its retired and the papers are Doodlebug.

Mobility Malcolm

Yesterday was a special day my Hubby has reached a milestone in his life and we had to celebrate with a lovely meal in his favourite restaurant with some good friends with myself footing the bill. I wish take this opportunity to thank Sarah Jane for selling some of my cards cos it pretty much paid the wine bill.
But a special card was called for and didn't fancy going down the soppy way so I checked out some Dr Digi's images he always has some perfect one for a man and Mobility Malcolm was perfect not sure my hubby thought so.
Couldn't decide if my balloon paper should be top or bottom or the birthday words even now its finished still not sure.
The balloons are CC designs and the numbers are from a Memory Box die, the today is from a chap who was selling dies at Ally Pally.

The Happy Birthday is my favourite from Stampin Up how dare they retire it. All that was left was some glossy accents on his glasses.
