Project Life!!!!!

I thought I would have a go at making my own Project Life style cards. I had always thought this would be quick but whether its because I made my own with the help of one of two that came from the paper pack or I just moved  tiny pieces paper around I'm not sure but these four pages took longer to do than standard 12inch pages.
My papers are Fancy Pants and there was a sheet of cards but not many I liked and I already had 6pocket page from American Crafts and though it would be easy to start with that size to begin with.  Another problem I hit is I print out on my PC using Epson and it prints out supposedly 4 to a page but that doesn' make them 4 by 6 and they don't quite fit in the pockets.

It got a bit much when using my leftover letters that I started cutting more letters to make up for letters that was missing in random colours. I also not keen on journalling but it gave it more interesting.

But it did help have a few stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamps which were perfect for event I was scrapbooking but at one point I had chairs with stuff of because I run out space to put stuff. The event was my nephew's 40th birthday and I had quite a few pics. I plan to make two normal 12 inch size pages to put either side of these page in my Album.

I also going to call these Wk 32 and 33 because they taken so much time and its still scrapbooking.
Would I do it again probably, would I make my own cards, maybe not.

Snowflake Mouse

Well the spring cleaning on the PC is done and its a touch faster but just in case, I loaded my cards last night.
First of all the sketch is Mojo Monday and I'm in time to enter this card too.
Its quite plain except for my MFT snowflakes round my oval mat. Of course my cute mouse is a well used Penny Black he comes out at least once over Christmas. I have no idea of what the paper are they were in a stack that was finding its way back to their original pack I'm quessing they could Authentique.
Off to a Stamping Up class this morning we are doing their Blendabilities which to you and me are alcohol markers like copic and promarkers. At least these are in set of light, medium and dark without have to work them out. I know in principle how to colour its always good to see how others use them to see if you can pick up any tips you didn't know and also its a reason to chat. I might show my cards I make but usually I make a pigs ear of them.

HoHoHo

Oh my goodness my PC is soooooo slow this morning, I had to upload my card from the camera so I would be able to enter the Less is More challenge this week but its taken nearly 45minutes to get my card here onto Blogger. Guess I will be doing a bit of a clean up when I get back from swimming.
Anyway back to the card its using the LIM sketch and the image is from Sassy Cheryl ages ago but the small snowmen looked too fiddly to cut. So I coloured them and then cut out the whole snowmen including the gloves etc.
Yes I know my Merry Christmas is crooked its only when I looked at on the PC screen did I realise, its straight now but I can't attempt another photo and upload till I've had a go fixing my PC.

Angel

It may take a while to remember the sketch I used but I used one of the new Christmas images from LOTV and their new Christmas paper.
The corners are dies from La La Land and the large doily is a Cheery Lyn one, the border is a Magnolia die that I treated myself when I was at the LOTV shop. All finish with snowflakes and glitter.
Its been very busy the last few days with Hubby home to sort out some jobs in the garden not helped with the bank holiday rain so we went out shopping and yesterday an early morning shop at B&Q before it got busy has it was the over sixty's day but it did mean we got to use Hubby's sixtys card.
So today I really need to get down to making cards or once again there will be no card for Penny Black Saturday.
Thanks to Nat at NG cards the sketch belongs to Sketch and Stash.

50dollar_voucher_600px

Biggest problem using Memory Box products is working out what to to use there's so many. I've used the new Plush Poinsettia Corner which is from their latest batch, unfortunately when I made this card Simon Says Stamps must have recently received another order of it and now within a few days of making this cards its out of stock again. For some reason I wanted to use the Village Lamp post die and so glad I did it worked a treat. The papers are not traditional Christmas papers but from Prima Free Spirit and that just leaves the Stamping Bella stamp called Quinn in her Boots.
I've also used a mixture of Liquid Pearls in white opal and gold pearls for the poinsettia centres.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting!

Without Strings

Today's card was a bit tricky to photo, especially has I wanted to show off the fact that I had stuck my image on acetate. It was an idea I had and I was pleased how it turned out although I was worried that my sticking fingers (I always seem to have glue somewhere on my fingers) would mark the acetate.
By the time I had attached the image and sorted out the Spellbinder floral oval frame I really couldn't work out how to decorate the card so I kept it simple. Just used the large Spellbinder flourish corner die and a Birthday sentiment and of course my image is Mo Manning called Daisy.
Well thats the large bank holiday and next week it September it all downhill to Christmas now and the weather has decided to turn into an early Autumn. One good thing its Simon Say Stamps Stamptember and I have some new goodies to play with only need the time to do so.

Phone Home

Well its a bank holiday here in the UK, also the reason for my post to be a bit late this morning, no setting the alarm clock on a long weekend.
I've used the Freshly Made Sketch from a few weeks ago but also I saw a card on Pinterest who had cut chervons in the main mat like this although I think theirs were a bit more discreet.
The card is still growing on me but I think it would work for a chaps card and especially as embellishments are harder for those sort of cards too.
The little chap is a digi from Funky Kits, I think most of love the artist already.
I've been having a go at the Project Life type of scrapbooking, I thought I would make my own cards with a combination, stamping, die cutting and using the scrapbooking patterned papers. Whilst I'm pleased how some of it turned out to be honest it took so long, that towards the end of the fourth page I rushed a bit. I've learned  a few things like used ready made cards that will speed things up and maybe add a few diecuts, I still don't like flat embellishments and yes it does use a few more photos. Will I do it again properly but only when I need to not because I love it!

Scrapbooking

Finally some scrapbooking pages and I'm behind with my layout a week, I think I worked it out week 34 and the last time I posted was at wk 28.
So heres no. 29 and the last of photo session of my niece and hubby before they had their son. I was rather hoping to finish off some patterned papers but ended using none. It also caused a heated discussion because before I put the blue mats on I was being discouraged to do anything but the butterflies and sentiment. But the blue mats help to bring the eye to the photos.
Here's a couple of layouts that I didn't want to show up on FB which at the moment doesn't matter since Networkedblogs are sometimes not posting a picture.

So this fab picture of some of nephews and niece is week 30.

Here is a double layout for week 32, some really old papers used here.

Wine Not

Yes Christmas is definitely on my mind when colouring and making cards. The 1st December is my deadline, earlier if possible. So this card is helping my quota and its using the Sunday Sketch and Stamp sketch or at least that was the sketch that inspired this card.
The Merry Christmas is a border die from Memory Box, they've made a swirly one for this year but this one will do me fine. I used a Spellbinder die for the large scallops and I cut them again in red to give a bit of a border it doesn't fit perfectly but its enough for to think it look OK.
Of course my little critters are from Penny Black called To a Full Stocking and the addition sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Cocktail Hour.

Snow Falling

A bit of a treat today with two cards but basically they're clean and simple and using the same technique. Which is using the Simon Say Stamps Snow Falling stencil with embossing paste. The first one with a LOTV image and since its a bear with a penquin therefore animals for the Less is More challenge. I used the paste over the the first layer and then layered the two after it was dry. If I wasn't layering I was used pads to lift the mat to give dimension but I thinking of posting so at the moment this just fits for normal post.

The second one is again using the Snow Falling stencil from Simon Says Stamps but this time I used the sketch on Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the Merry die from Simon Says Stamps it also has Christmas with it too but I didn't use that but the waste from the Merry Christmas Border from Memory Box, this sentiment replaced the border at the bottom of the sketch. The Snowflakes are both from Simon Says Stamps and finished with a gem. I was quite please how this one turned out.
Ok running late this morning, forgot to set the alarm clock and I have to be ready for my daughter to drop me off swimming before she goes to work.

Blog Hop

It time for a Blog Hop and this time its Heidy turn for a theme and she chosen to use two images or more. Recently I have used  the few I have merged so I decided to use the one I merged last year for Christmas.
The first is the Winter's Door and I merged it with Victoria Caroling. I coloured Victoria with colours to match the first patterned paper mat then promptly hid all of it.
I've used Memory Box border die and the sentiment is some new ones from LOTV. My snow is Glossy Accents with glamour dust but this seems to upset the camera and Victoria's face is bit wishy washy which is so not true in real life.
This is the link to the You tube tutorial that I use to merge my images, I've done it a few times now but I still forget the running ants!
So to the HOP you should have arrived from Julie and I'm afraid I'm the end of the hop, sad I know.
Hope you comment along the way cos there's a couple of vouchers to spend in Mo's shop to win.

Back to school

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

BACK TO SCHOOL

For some the holidays are already over and this is just the time to make encouragement cards to pop in to lunch boxes, notebooks, school calendars etc. Or you could personalize a shop bought item. We're looking forward to seeing your creations.
We are showcasing MY FAVORITE THINGS products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Oh dear its nearly time for the little uns to go back to school and no doubt school uniform shopping is on the agenda and the dreaded shoes buying and once they're back in school it will downhill all the way to Christmas and another year over. Gosh that sounds so depressing.
So something a bit cheery,  my card and although I haven't used a Back to School sentiment decided that I'll turn it into a Birthday Card and used Paper Smooches Birthday words die. A tip when cutting it out,  add some double sided tape on the back of the card before cutting out and use the left over cut out to use has a guide to stick the letters on your card.
I also decided on a Pure Innocence stamp I Wheelie like you, I thought this one with her bike would work for Back to School. I paper pieced her clothes using the Authentique Radiant pack that I used for the rest of the card.
The paper clips and the clipboard top are all from MFT Office Supplies die set originally brought for scrapbooking but worked out really well for this card. I've also discovered how to use the clipboard parts and if I had my sensible head on I would have worked it out without finding out and  thinking duh.
Just added some enamel dots  these ones are from Doodblebug.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Cake Anybody

I had to photo this quick cos by my reckoning if I wanted to be on time for the Sketch Saturday Challenge I need to post this card today. I did flip the sketch but I think maybe the punched flowers to match the papers are in the wrong place but perhaps I could be forgiven for that little mistake.
The image is a digi from Sugar Nellie they have a look of a favourite stamp company but they have a bit more detailed shadowing which would be hard to make into rubber but how could I resist and the fact I can print them saves my hands.
The papers are Doodlebug, I love these papers and rarely do I have much left. I think now there's only a two or three papers left out of a couple of packs.
If you're looking for the Everybody Art Challenge card we're on our Summer break and back the 2nd September which is only a couple of weeks away.

Dressed Up

Time to show this card before Summer disappears altogether I've been informed it going to get colder this week probably just in time for the bank holiday.
The girls are from All Dressed Up, you actually get three but I used the other girl separaretly already.
The papers are most probably Echo Park and seem appropriate for this card not too sure on the flowers but they are best of the bunch that I tried. Not too many embellishments especially as the girls are on the large size so the cutting out isn't too much of a headache.

Ice Cream Trio

Just realised this was in my drafts and it was using a Mojo Monday Sketch possible from a few weeks ago now.
This time I've used the Simon Says Stamps Ice Cream Cones Die and love how it marks the cones with a criss, cross patterned.  I used the die outline bit tricky to stick to the ice cream but they can be used without.
The sentiment is from this months Simon Says Stamps card kit but you can get the stamp set separately its called Ice Cream Dream.
Last of all the papers are Authentique and I made my fish tails with a square punch.
I had a successful day at the crop I've made 3 layouts just need to check how far behind I am on a layout a week but it will definitely help.

Carol singing Mice

This post very nearly didn't happen since Mr Virgin decided to have a network problem although he didn't realise till I complained. This is happening far too frequently and yes David I know you have had BT for the past seven years and never had a problem.
Anyway it came back on last night and I can at last schedule this post for tomorrow since I'm off to MJ crop.
So of course my mice are Penny Black although the papers are LOTV and it was a lucky accident that I love the tiny border with the large tree pattern background.
Add a couple of Penny Black Holly with some Liquid pearls and a couple of fishtail banner with a sentiment and the card is made.
It looks busy but for me this is clean and simple and fairly quick to make not sure I would want to do more than a couple though.

Foliage

Not too sure about these now, I think they need toning down but I so wanted to join in with this weeks Less is More challenge. This clear foliage stamp set from Stampendous was probably one of the first even clings I ever brought so they about 13years old and I notice they are going a bit soft but they seem to still stamp well.
The fabulous sentiment is from Simon Says stamp is called Floral Bookmarking. The butterfly was never in the plan but the bit of ink on my finger managed to transfer itself on the finished card.

Not sure if this was one colour too far and still not convince this is a bit of a mess and I've checked the card again to make sure the sentiment is straight and it is so how it can be crooked I don't know.

Valerie in Autumn

Another in time for the actual challenge although I may have changed the Sketch Saturday sketch a little too much. I've added the twine with Impression Obession leaves because of the I had to add the sentiment to the bottom of the image instead of at the top. But I sneak it in.
The adorable image is Valerie in Autumn, you get two one with pumpkin and this one. I wish now I added a bit of sky behind her it.
Scary but I've worked out that in a couple of weeks we will almost be in September and already the weather feels like theres a change in the air.
