Wedding Card

Another card that had to wait to be posted, my daughter wanted a Wedding Card for her friend so here it is.

The paper is Stampin Up and I'm using my all time favourite die Floral Oval from Spellbinders but I do have to cut out the centre. I do this my drawing a line round the inside of the die before taking it off the card stock. Using a craft knife I cute the centre out, helped by using a glass cutting mat.

There has to be ribbon and lace on a Wedding card so I've ticked that box. The heart die is from Penny Black, I carefully snipped the hearts of a second die cut so I could layer the hearts.

The fabulous die is a Cheery Lynn one, that my niece has brought for her Wedding Cards that she very kindly let me borrow them. Last but not least the fabulous image is from Tiddly Inks and possibly my favourite Wedding image.

Just for Ewe

I have a few cards in my drafts waiting for them to be received before posting, in this case its for my brother. He's had to have a particular uncomfortable procedure and wanted no visitors while he recovered so I just wanted to let him know we are thinking of him.

I wanted it to be a little humourous hopefully to raise a smile which was why I used the MFT Sheep stamps and die set. My cloud is a new Memory Box die, I doubt it will be the last time of seeing it.

The birds are Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky stamps and die set, the papers are some old scrapbooking ones I decided would work for cards, I think it could be Pebbles but don't hold me to that.

So I starting a busy week with a doctors appointment this morning, since the flu like virus, my ear has been troubling me and its 5 weeks since it started I'm hoping it just wax.

Moon cat

Yes I made a Penny Black card using a very old stamp, I didn't even buy it new but from a second hand craft sale many years ago.

The glitter moon was a bit tricky, well not really but I had to layer the moon and the cats tail and then walk away for rest of the day while the silicone glue dried out so that when I used a wet glue like craft pva wouldn't buckle my moon.

Once that was done I then had to wait for the pva to dry before layering the rest of the cat. Patience apparently isn't my middle name!

The sketch is sort of Mojo Monday but they have the sketch on a landscape card which wouldn't fit my Simon Says Stamp Stitched fishtail banner so I turned it. Also I think I should have the light brown card to highlight the scallops of the stripy paper.

To finish I used Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes star, but I just wanted to add more and more and lets be honest less is more.

I'm having a quiet weekend maybe a bit of card making but no crops or craft shows, I have a really busy week coming up and I need to be rested before I take it on.

Charlotte Cal Completed

Here it is my Charlotte Cal with the bobble border, it would fit a single bed no problem but it would be no good on a double bed, Hubby and I would be fighting over who got the most.

Now I have several small balls of wool that won't be any good for anything half decent so I've made little squares. The first couple of rows is a pattern that I added another three of my own making but they don't lay flat and I don't plan to block them. Hope when I join them together eventually it will help to stretch them a bit.

Ballerina

I like two thirds of my card but I've now decided that I don't like the colourful strip down the side, its well and truly stuck including the ribbon so there is now way I can do anything about it.

May have to do it again with a white panel, love the Hearts die which is a Memory box die with an added heart, the join hidden under the pearl

I stamped the Believe using Simon Says Stamps die and stamp set, I've used it before in scrapbooking.

The gorgeous ballerina is from Mo Manning called Ballet-Pratice she is a bit fiddly to layer but there aren't two many to do.

I finally got my hand on Simon Says Stamp Circle of Leaves, they kept getting sold out. I was just playing with the die to see how it cut when I decided to see if I could using one of Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle afterwards and this how my centre turned out.  I cut it again so I could layer the leaves with some Foam Squares, I had to cut them down to fit and I used Zig Glue Pen to stick down the stems.

My circle needed a mat to go on and this point I knew I was going for an all white card especially has I had used a textured card. I used the Simon Say Stamps Stitched Rectangle for a finished touch round the mat.

But I needed something more I cute the Circle of Leaves again to make matching leaves and used the Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea dies, just the two smallest ones. They need some centres so I used the Simon Says Stamp Mini Flowers and Leaves.

To finish I needed a sentiment, technically its going to be a get well card but there could be further treatment and I felt this sentiment I found on the Ranunculus Stamp set   and it fitted inside one of the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners.

Finally a pearl for each flower to finish.

Envelope

We are having an envelope theme on Everybody Art Challenge. Now I was sure what was meant by this challenge but time wasn't going to allow me to actually make a envelope nor did I want the stress in making one. So I chose a good quality envelope and decided to decorate it with stamps.

First I had to make some masks for the flowers so that they could overlap, I made five in the end. The foliage and flower stamp are both Stampin Up but could be retired, I know the foliage one is.

I stamped the flowers first and then the foliage moving the masks as I went. I think I may have gone a bit mad but it was quite fun to do.

I decided to do the back, in hindsight I think this is how I should of stamped the front.

Do pop over and check on the team and hope you can join us this week. Meanwhile we off to do a bit of shopping today, I need more white card for stamping my images, stuffing for crochet toys

New Home

Apologies for the crooked photo, this is after I straighten it! Anyway I'm pleased I found the photo on the camera, thought I had sent it without photographing it.

The only problem it was while ago since I made I now having to rack my brain to work out what I used so here goes. First the house is Stamping Up, stripy paper - no idea, the stitched rectangle and fishtail banner both from Simon Says Stamp. Oh the star is too but the sentiment is Altenew on their succulents stamp set.

Scrapbooking

Yes even my scrapbooking is going clean and simple, well maybe not clean but definitely simple. I'm still doing 2014 photos and there are loads and they need to be quick. The good thing is I have several made up as kits and I think I'm only stuck on December because my Christmas papers are in another box.

So this is at Mason's first Birthday where she order bouncing castle with a ball play pen, for some reason my BIL thought about picking the balls on the lawn. Little did the bigger kids know what he was about to do with them.

Clouds and punched dots to decorate, wish I knew what I did with the punch but I haven't seen it since. The title was a bit tricky took a while to think of one but it works a treat.

Snowy

Oops done it again forgot to schedule my post for the Mid Month reminder for Penny Black Saturday Challenge of Try or Use something new.

I decided to use the new Snowy die which I have had for quite a while but I know I haven't used it because the snowflakes were still attached in the middle of the main die. My Snowy stamp is an old one so I did wonder whether Penny Black may have altered him slightly in the newer stamps but he fitted perfectly.

The idea of have a neat white border round the image is that he shows up better over patterned paper but I decided to make a square where the bottom half is made with snow using Simon Says Stamps Slopes and Hills die.

I cut the Lawn Fawn square paper with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square then I used it again on my hills and slopes. I prefer doing this way just in case I need to lengthen the square to make a rectangle. Yes that is my favourite Christmas Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Christmas Toys still not tired of it yet.

Crochet Update

Here you can see all the different colours of my Charlotte Cal, I have now crochet the border but I need to find a large space to show it off in its entirety. The wool Stylecraft Special DK, I have a few little ball of each colour left but I plan to make some tiny squares that eventually put together when I enough. I've also got to find another blanket to make.

Excuse my naked Weebee, I recently add a bun to her hair but its make a head a bit heavy. Some crocheters have sewn a nose which I was going to do but I forgot and stitched on the hair cap and it really needed doing before them.

Just need to get round to making some clothes.

Get Well Blog Hop

Mmmmm my camera is playing tricks again with my Square card, looks like its a bit crooked please try and ignore it!

So for this months theme on Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop is for Get Well, decided on what image to use which is always tricky with such fabulous images but I decided on Bearly Sick F and a bit of paper piecing.

I had to print two for the pink heart paper and once for the dark pink for collar and cuffs. The belt I decided to colour along with the rest of the image.

Sometimes Get Well isn't really appropriate especially if its going to be a long journey so I used the Penny Black lots of Love die instead.

The frame is MFT and so are the daisies dies, leaves are CC designs, apart from the frame all the other dies are pretty old now and probably retired. The Stitched Wavy Scallop border is a Simon Says Stamp die.

Now I'm the start of  Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop and you need to HOP, SKIP and JUMP over to Daria. If you get lost pop over the to Dream Team Blog where the whole list is listed.

I decided to use the Lacy Scrolls from Altenew, first of all I had to make a mask because I knew I wanted to some leaves behind my flower. I use a zig glue pen to make my mask sticky, once the blue glue turns clear its because repositional.

Once that was done I made my background with just the leaves and added a bit of blended green using Inkylicious Ink Duster they are much easier on my poorly hand then a small blending tool. Don't panic if the hairs come out they are the loose ones and check you inkpad after use to make sure a sneaky one has been left behind.

I made my frame using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals but before I place it over my flower I stamped the leaves using the mask I made. Sentiment is a Thankful Heart from Simon Says Stamp.

Heart You

I can't believe I didn't get time to make a Penny Black card last week. I don't card make everyday like I used and one of the days I do was taken up with making Order of Service covers. There was three of us making 50 of them, I know how the bride wants her invitations so if we thought the Service ones were fiddly wait till we start the invitations.

I do have a Penny Black card in mind for the mid month reminder for Penny Black Saturday Challenge so fingers crossed that the next two days behave themselves.

Now that Everybody Art Challenge is fortnightly and the new one isn't till next week I have a very quick and simple card using a Mo Manning Heart You, thats Hubbys Valentine done then.

The papers are some dotty ones I found and the frame is from MFT, the hearts are the Simon Says Stamp Doily Hearts and Holiday Hearts and Stars. Finished of with a retired stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and the Stampin Up Scallop Oval and Oval punch.

Just had to layer up the little chap and my work is done.

I nearly done my Charlotte Cal blanket, its all connected and now starting the full border, the bit I hate because its now too heavy for my neck and shoulders so I'm trying to get that done asap but have to keep stopping to have a rest.

Singing Elf

Just when you thought my blog was safe from Christmas Cards only to find this. First of I hadn't used these fabulous Singing Elves and I had coloured them for another challenge which because I was ill I wasn't up for making the card. So it was only right to use at least one of them, this one is Singing Elf Wynn, I think possibly they need to shrink a bit more for all three to make it on one card.

Yes those papers are Doodlebug Polar Pals, my favourite pages are nearly gone but I still love the colours. My Snowflakes are Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn, the larger ones first cut with fun foam.  Yes that is my favourite Christmas Sentiment and I stamped before layering and therefore it stamped properly.

Pink Dragons

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Color Of Love Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is
Cute
This week we are showcasing Wild Rose Studio Products this week. You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I was pleasantly surprised how well the clear stamp stamped, I was a bit warily how well clear stamp would stamp but it stamped beautifully first time.

First I made a frame for my dragon using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, then used their Stitched Scallop Border die for down the side. I also used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes, there's a Straight Stiched die where I used down the side of the pattern paper but I did have to match it up and do it twice since the die is not quite long enough.

The paper is Doodlebug Cream and Sugar which works beautifully with my Dragon Flying from Wild Rose, I suggest if you love him like I do I would grab him quick, he was out of stock a couple days ago but seems to be back in stock.

Since I had to stamp him a few times to make the layers I also coloured a few of the butterflies so with the aid of a black pen I drew the antennas so I could have them round the frame.

I then decided to used the tiny Happy Birthday from the Simon Says Stamp Ranunculus stamp and die set. Things went wrong at this stage since I had already stuck the frame with foam squares, so second time round using a corner of a square punch I made my fishtail banner to stick over a badly stamped sentiment.

For a Girl

I missed the last challenge on Everybody Art Challenge so pleased I was well enough to make this weeks new one of For Girls or Valentine and as you can see I went the girly way.

I'm using one of the Saturated Canary girls that I brought before she closed her shop and she was quick and simple to colour.

Another quick card, I don't where the time goes and I could of done without feeling pants for two weeks.

Found the sketch in Pinterest, I have a board just for card sketches. The papers are some old Scrapbooking ones that I decided would work better for card making.

The leaf swirl is a Cheery Lynne one and the flowers are some old MFT ones, the scallop border is Stampin Up border.

Popping up to Wisley this morning to see the butterflies, means there will be no card making today but I'm home this weekend so I hope to have a good play in my craftroom.

Kraft

There's a new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge to try a new technique or use something new. Well I couldn't find the new Penny Black Holly die that I recently brought and I couldn't think of a new technique I've tried most and try not to do the ones that usually end up in the bin.

I'm not keen on flat colouring and rarely do I colour on Kraft card so I thought I would give it a go and to be honest if I had more time this would end in the bin. I had forgotten Hedgie needed a white belly and found blending the flesh tone into white a bit of nightmare.

If I had the chance to do this card again I would stamp a base image on the Kraft card and stamp, colour and fussy cut using white card stock and I think I would be happy. It may even happen there nothing stopping me doing just that with this card and I can tick off Hubby's Valentine card.

The white frame is MFT and the words are using Simon Says Stamp Roses for you stamp and die set and the hearts is using Hearts Align die.

I'm still struggling on with this flu like bug the cough and snotty nose has decided its not going anywhere and I'm having weird stuff going on in my ears, roll on Summer.

Jerry

One of my daughters favourite films is Labyrinth and since yesterday was her Birthday I needed a card for her and Mo's Jerry has a look of Hoggle in his eyes.  When I started colouring I realised I was colouring him with a lot of green and turning him into a leprechaun, had to deal with them and coloured his jacket red!

The papers are some old scrapbooking ones that I decided would work better for cards. Tender Fern from Memory Box and the toadstool are Cottage Cutz. Thats it apart from the sentiment which was one that lives on my desk. I did blend some Old Linen with Inkylicious brush  round the image and sentiment to soften the stark white.

The DP2 challenge is live with a new challenge of Anything Goes so pop over and check the team.

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

The Color Of Love

It will be Valentine's Day soon so anything with a love theme.

I realised as I was cutting very carefully round the Reverse Confetti Toucan of Friendship that I should have brought the dies too.

I decided to used the Simon Says Stamp Believe stamps and die so I could turn my card into an Anniversary one and could tick the box that I've done Hubby's card for March.

The papers are Doodlebug Cream and Sugar but I only really used one sheet. The frame I made using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.
